Health Benefits = Confusing

So, the deal with health benefits.... I believe they are there to cover medical expenses when we need them... i'm not 100% sure, but I believe that they don't WANT to be putting money out to cover medications, but when you need them, they're there.

stop me if i'm wrong on this...

A quick background on me...  i'm a27 year old man, married, two kids,  in poor health, all pretty much related to the fact that i'm 400+ lbs.  I've got high blood pressure, Acid Reflux, Depression, i'm being tested for sleep apnea,  bad Asthma, and concequently because of my weight i've got a bad back.

I'm working hard to fix myself.  i've currently went to an obesity clinic in Hamilton, Ontario, and I will be taking part in a program called Optifast.  Basically, it's a liquid diet for a certain period of time.  I'll be under doctor supervision during the entire period of the diet.

The frustrating part of all this, is I would need to go on an appitite suppressor while on the shakes, so i'm not hungry all the time. But my benefits refuse to cover any weight loss meds. I wrote them a letter explaining to them that by covering this pill that is about $150 a month, you will inevitably save probably over a $1000 a month! The just responded back saying that my policy doesn't cover it, and that is non negotiable.

call me crazy, but if I could spend $150 a month and save $1000 a month. I think thats some good math.

yea yea, its my first personal blog... i'm usually a funny guy, this info just happened to hit on the day I started my blog. lol    I promise next one will be more entertaining! :)
